They also insist on carrying your firearm purchases to the front door for you when you pick up. I like to get almost to the front door and "notice" that I've misplaced my cell phone and have the asst. mgr. troop around behind me while I look for it.

Granted, it was three or so years ago, so I actually got a lot for my money, but it was definitely after 10pm!!!
              Spyder,

Actually, it was before 10:00pm. Like 19 hours before

That is whey the sold it. All the OP had to do was wait until it was after midnight so it would be the next day and well before 10:00 pm

Yeah, after I started reloading I quit going to Wall Mart. Every once in a while my wife makes a trip to that Wall Mart and brings me back .45acp ammo without me asking for it.

My friend in GA says his local wally world won't sell ammo after 9 PM. Ridiculous store policy. He walks in there IWB carry fully loaded, but can't buy ammo? Stupid.

I've never had that experience, I've also purchased ammo at around 2AM from Walmart. I picked it out at the sports counter and pay for it there and carry it out myself.

It has been a few years but Wally World used to sell guns.

I got a real good deal on a 10/22 at the Nasty City store. The sporting goods guy couldn't find the key to the trigger lock so he knocked twenty bucks off the price. Between me and Mr. Leatherman the lock didn't make it out of the parking lot.

The store in Santee had an unfortunate incident when someone brought in some of his own ammo and asked to handle a shotgun. That started the store policies on firearms. Later on, when the stack of FFL paperwork mistakes got out of hand, Walmart stopped selling guns in California.
                              It's not PTSD, it's nostalgia.

I was just at the Walmart at the 805 and Clairmont Mesa in San Diego this time Monday. The clerk in sporting goods told me that he stocked the incoming ammo every night and the best time for me to come (to have a good selection) was ~11:00 PM.
