Ammo prices going to come down soon ? ? ? ?

I see it seem like some of the firearm prices have been coming down. Do you guys think
the same is going to happen with ammo?

i'm buying to use it. its not going to go down until everyone feels that they have stocked up enough. then they'll need to lower prices to keep it selling. its only expensive because they know people are willing to pay more when they think their 2A isn't safe.

The only time I've seen firearm or ammo prices drop is when a new manufacture starts up and releases a quality product into a struggling niche of the market.

          Ammo costs.

          Factors that effect ammo costs.

          Cost of raw materials.
          Demand for product.
          Supply versus demand.

Right now we are seeing panic buying, people are hoarding, so ammo costs will stay up for the short term, at least as long as people feel that Obama will enact new gun restrictions.

Assuming that we get favorable court rulings and/or the dems get spanked in the 2010 elections, we may see ammo costs stablize, even go down.

With everyone buying like its the end of the world in major bulk supplies.i think it will come down soon many will have more than they know what to do with sitting around before they make another purchase leaving suppliers with a more than normal supply soon.

At least i hope so and what i am counting on.IMO ammo is like oil when in demand its high but low demand well it has to come down.

Seriously i would like to see how a shtf situation a guy who bought 3k for each gun try and carry that around with them everywhere they go.I usually keep about 500 for .223 and a few misc for every other gun i own.

i think it also really depends on what type of taxes will be put on ammo in the near future.

if the grabbers really want to, they can price the ammo so high that we wouldn't want to shoot anymore....

supposedly the govt/military is playing catch up with ammo supply.

well as far as I can tell ammo hasn't peaked in supply everyone is buying as much as they can still.

you might start seeing stuff go "on sale" or have bulk deals or free shipping as the ammo market turns -- the key here is that its only going to drop if demand suddenly hits the floor and everyone becomes massively over-stocked. if it tapers off (which I suspect since firearms sales seem to be for some sub-categories) then pricing won't change just availability.

in short nothing is going to get better 'till ammo starts staying on the shelves

as for reloading... man we need more stock on primers already!
According to this CDC document the firearms related death rate has been surpassed by the poisoning death rate.

Don't see it coming down anytime soon. I'm waiting to see "good" deals pop up every now and then. The early bird gets the worm these days.

It'll go down when the bridge tolls, and toll lane price goes down.

Which is why some of us have bought crates of ammo.

I heard it at the range that ammo prices were going to come down. Stop buying reloading components people.
