    22LR copper

I know pretty much all 22LR ammo runs pretty dirty and can cause malfunctions. I was wondering if the copper plated/jacketed 22LR ammo runs any cleaner in the gun or is just your fingers that stay cleaner since you're not touching the lead bullet?

They're a bit cleaner, but mostly in the feed ramp area. A lot of the sootyness is from the powder, which is the same regardless of the projectile. Given similar prices I prefer plated, but I have no problems with unplated either.

Actually if you want an idea of relative cleanliness of a few brands, this is helpful.

I was wondering about this too. Maybe not having lead down the barrel would help, but copper can foul too?

I have not checked brands to see which is cleanest / dirtiest .
I now only use the plated ones - .
While we clean the guns within a day or 2 , the lead ones are hader / take longer to clean .
Last weekend , we were in Reno . Cabela's only had the lead in buckets , but wallmart had the plated .

They're not liberals, they're leftists. Please don't use the former for the latter. Liberals are Locke, Jefferson, Burke, Hayek. Leftists are progressives, Prussian state-socialists, fascists. Liberals stand against the state and unequivocally support liberty. Leftists support state tyranny.

I mostly stick with plated as I think (hope) it will have better corrosion resistance for long term storage. Lately been shooting wildcats and thunderbolts from mid80s-early 90s, plated stuff has been ok but lead was oxidized and swollen to point you have to jam them into cylinder to use... still fired but not recommended procedure... plated for me, if I get a good deal on lead I’ll buy it but shoot it first.

The plated ones usually have less of a wax coating. This will help keep the action of a semi auto cleaner.
