Reloading Supplies After the first of the year.

I frequent the reloading store at Angeles for most of my reloading items. They have said that the way they read the law that projectiles are going to fall under the regulated part and will be under the fingerprint back ground check system.

Only verbiage I get from the law and what was discussed here only applies to manufactured complete bullets.

What is the true extent of the upcoming ammo regulations as it pertains to reloading?

There is a section in the new laws that talks about projectiles as considered separate from complete cartridges, but it applies only to those already prohibited from owning guns and/or ammo. If you are not a prohibited person, there is no restriction. That said, it will take some time for all the LGS owners and employees, as well as online suppliers, to get it all straight. Lay in enough now to get you through 6 months or so, and all should be well.

        Here's the relevant language:

As used in this part, except in subdivision (a) of Section
30305 and in Section 30306, “ammunition” means one
or more loaded cartridges consisting of a primed case,
propellant, and with one or more projectiles. “Ammunition”
        does not include blanks.
        This language is pretty clear.

The next paragraph is, in my opinion, a bit ambiguous but as wbunning points out, it only applies to prohibited persons.

None of the law regards components. As a separate form there is nothing regulating them. Reload at will.
