    22 Hornet loading...

Well I made the dive into 22 Hornet. I have the powders, bullets, brass and primers. I want to try CFE BLK as I also use it in my 300AAC rounds. I have heard H110 is also good.

Does anyone else out there load 22 Hornet?

If so what is your favorite bullet weight and powder combo?

I have procrastinated buying a gun in this cartridge for way too long.

        I've always wanted one

Wow, .22 Hornet, that brings back memories. I had one years ago that I reloaded for, as I recall I traded it off for something else.....Fun little cartridge!

But you better reload cause it's expensive to buy factory ammo. But Nosler sells ammo so at least you can get good brass

Ppu sells ammo for it around 22 dollars a box of 50. Not super expensive and it reloads well.

Lil Gun works across the board for all bullet weights , burns hot .
                  H110 , 4227 , 4198 all work well .
Of course you didn't mention bullet weigh, or gun , so won't get to tell you my favorite loads.

                    22 Hornet loading...

I have some 34gr Nosler bullets I will load up with CFE BLK to test.

                    I think I will also try H-110 / W-296 loads.

I've always used IMR 4227 and have several pounds on hand. Some shooters have reported good results with Accurate 1680 in the Hornet and I'm going to load 100 and try them it out when I get around to it. I'm also partial to Remington brass. Bullets are of the 40 - 46 grain weights.

                        hornet loads

i shoot and load for a Contender carbine....21" tapered TC barrel. One of my best loads is 12.5 grains lil gun and the Midway Dogtown 34 grain HP. It will shoot 3 shot groups under an inch if i do my part. I've had good results lighting them off with small pistol primers. The Dogtown bullet are a good buy in the 500 round boxes......Mike

I picked up some of the 45gr Sinter Fire bullets for shooting. I want to try these 45gr bullets in my 22 Hornet. Has anyone else tried these?

Here is some loading data for the 22 Hornet. It is from the Lyman 44 Edition manual.

The Lyman 44 Edition is from 1967.
