Hi-Tek coated bullet loading data help?

So I'm new to loading and not very knowledgable. I've loaded 2,500 rounds of 45acp with xtreme plated 230gn rn and fired them all with no hiccups. I just ordered 1,500 rounds of 45acp 230gn and 1,500 of 9mm 115gn from acme bullets.

I'm searching for load data on these and finding mixed info, some stuff saying use lead data and some saying use mid range jacketed data.

    so two questions....

    1. which load data do you guys use for Hi-Tek? (Lead or mid jacketed)

    2. If lead data is what I use is it fine to use the 120gr lead data for 115gn and 225gr lead data for the 230gn? (my books don't have 230 or 115 in lead)

    Thanks

I load using lead or plated data for my coated bullets. What powder are you using. Hodgdon has 19 powders listed for 115 LRN. I use 231 but I going to 800x. I just got 4 pounds cheap.

I don't understand what you're looking for. Hodgdon's site lists 4.3 starting to 5.3 max load of Win 231 for 230 lrn in .45acp. Could you not find that?

Just in case you didn't know, here is their link.

I use lead data for loading hitek coated bullets and have found I get the highest velocity from them vs plated or jacketed. The load data included below will show you what I mean..BTW I use about .1 or a grain less VS copper coated. ACME is who I use for both 9mm and .40

As a general rule I find .1 to .2 gr less powder is required for the same velocity with coated bullets compared to plaled. This approximation is based upon several 100 shot over a chrono in several calibers. 9, 40, 45, & 38.
If you want change you have to put in your 2 cents, you can't just sit on the sidelines and whine.

It seems that most of my sources have an overlap between lead and jacketed. With plated I end up in the lower jacketed range, which overlaps the upper lead range. It makes for good practice ammo, plated is not the ticket if you want full tilt barn burners. No need to over think it.
