I just ordered some ammo from Ammunition to Go, I ordered 50 round boxes of gold dots. I had a box of 20 round boxes of gold dots, and decided to measure them with a caliper and happen to find out that they are not to consistent. Some rounds measured 1.197 other were at 1.208, I dont know if 11 thousands of an inch make a difference. The 20 round box was on the lower side and 50 round box was on larger side.

Gold Dot measurement

I'm not a reloader, so can't speak to the length question, but I have shot many, many rounds of Gold Dot in .380, .38, and 9mm.
It sounds like they're from different production runs. It's not really precision ammo, and I don't think the small difference will matter. I get better accuracy from 9mm WWB bulk pack in a CZ75B than from my Gold Dot +P 9mm, but both are plenty accurate for defense use.
I haven't measured any of mine, but if I remember, I'll give it a try.sigpic
