    loading Hornady cannelured ring bullets

I load a 7x57 Mauser and have developed several loads for 140 grain that are just right...Use Sierra and Speer bullets and since I shoot only the one rifle I neck size and "tailor" the loads to my rifle.

I just got a bunch of "freebie" Hornady bullets and they have the cannelure ring...I don't crimp any of the loads now and if I set the Hornady to the OAL I've been using the mouth of the case is a bit beyond the cannelure..should I just ignore the cannelure and set the neck tension as I now do? I've just not loaded any rifle ammo with any kind of cannelure ring bullets...thanks
God and the Constitution give me my rights and actions...any other input is just blabbering.

Yes do as you have been.
Remember the shape of the bullets will be different so to get the same jump to the rifling you would need to measure with the new bullets and adjust.

Or you can just seat them the same if that is not a concern

    No need to crimp.
A 30cal will reach out and touch them. A 50cal will kick their butt.

Been gone too long. It's been 15 to 20 years since i had to shelf my guns. Those early years sucked.

They set the cannelure so IF you roll crimp into it, the COL should be good for ALL properly chambered rifles. This is most useful for hunting rounds where function is more important that a tenth of a MOA.
You load for only your rifle, so you are responsible to working out the COL that is best and if you want to use a roll crimp.
