.22 WRF Where'd it all go?

I recently purchased a Winchester 1890 in .22 WRF and am having a hell of a time finding ammo. I know that it's made seasonally, but I'm wondering if the current shortage is because of that, people hoarding, or if less is being produced. Does anyone know?

Also, does anyone know of a good source? I would prefer to buy from an actual shop (in the Sacramento area), but a good cheap internet source would be okay as well.

Lastly, since I haven't shot this yet, has anyone here shot this caliber, and how fun is it?

I happen to have five (I think) boxes of this very caliber. I do not have a gun to shoot it out of. I have no idea where I got it. Its Winchester factory loads though. PM me if you are interested in buying it.

MidwayUSA is out of stock right now, but they are allowing backorders to be placed. Their site says the ammo should be in stock by the end of the month, but they sometimes are a bit optimistic on that.

Chestnut Ridge lists it as available, but I don't know if their web site keeps up with their inventory in real time.

Most of that stuff is in my safe (about 1500 rnds) but I did see about 8 boxes of it at Sportsmans Warehouse in Rocklin on Tuesday.

At $6.99 per box it was the cheapest ammo they had in stock! LOL

p.s. the 1890 Winchester is a total hoot to shoot!

          Thanks gotgunz!

Went there today and cleared them out of their last 7 boxes.

          Still looking for more.

Well, shot my 1890 yesterday, and I did enjoy it immensely. Unfortunately I didn't have time to put more than 30 rounds through it.

I had to laugh after the first shot though. For some reason I was expecting a little kick. Not much, but a little.

Another question. Has anyone used the CCI hollow point WRF for varmiting and is it worth the extra cost?

Still in the market for more of this stuff.

I have a Marlin bolt action in .22 mag. Its fun to shoot but also expensive. I usually buy 2 boxes at the gun show for 6.50 ea and thats alot. I saw 1 box at my local walmart for 9.97!! No wonder I don't shoot that damn thing!!!
