    Savage 110BA 338 Starting Load

Yes I know I'm sure these posts are a little "to each is own", but I'd like to hear some feedback from some owners of this rifle who reload them.

Right now I'm looking at Accurate MagPro powder with a 285g bullet that I am undecided on. Range would be up to 1000 meters.

I use H1000 & 300g bergers w/fed match primers in lapua brass so you're gonna have have totally different results but I started at 87g & worked up to 89.5g
Have you had any stuck cases shooting factory loads yet?

I'll have to go look at my data... but 250g over 94.6g of H1000 was a good load. I think when I shot my Hornady 285g I got a sticky bolt at 92g but forget if it was with Retumbo or H1000. I'll check my data when I get home.

With the 285's I start at 90 grains of H1000 and go up in 0.7 grain increments.
        Never used MagPro.

Factory loads, Haven't shot any. With Hornady brass I literally had stuck brass with every single round. Didn't matter the charge. Switch to Lapua brass, that problem went away.

As far as my load data with the 285g, I need to look more. I found 1 paper with my initial chrono data of 92g of powder (my dumbass didn't specify which one!) and I stopped after my first batch due to heavy bolt. I planned on going as high as 94g so I want to say that was H1000... but will need to redo it all since I suck.

I actually never fired any factory loads in my Stuckvage but every once in a while I'll stick one (lapua brass) during a match .... always have my cleaning rod ready .

                understood.

was a shot in the dark because mine stuck ppu brass all the time, but never mil surp. I did not buy lapua. After all, it's a savage.
