Brass trimming messy

I use the Lyman Universal Case Trimmer. Every time I trim, I spend as much cleaning as I spent trimming. Is there a setup that prevents brass shreds from flying everywhere?

If you spray or brush some case lube on the cutter ( cutter only ) every so often the shavings are curly cues and much easier to clean up.

Just chuck the shell holder and then put brass in, stick the trimmer thing in the case and give the drill a quick spin.

Last time I used it just turned on the dodger game on the iPad and trimmed a couple hundred '06. Didn't take all that long.

I'm considering the quick trim case thing. Not all that expensive either.

Very happy with my World's Finest Trimmer, doesn't make a mess, just tap against the trash can lip to clean out now and then.

Get yourself a plastic container that the trimmer will fit into. Any shavings will fall into the container and you won't have a mess all over the place.

Great trimmer. The only reason to not get it is if you have a caliber they do not make a Tri-way for. Example, 6.5 creedmoor. If you are purchasing several, it might make sense to bite the bullet and get the power trimmer.

Great service, great products. I have use the tri-way for 308 and 223. I just picked up the power for 6.5cm and 30.06.

You need to call them.

Also, for your current trimmer, use masking tape, sticky-side up, to catch the shavings.

About a year into that, I gave up and bought a Giraud Trimmer

I use the lee system and all of my trimming fall into my 5gal bucket full of scrap brass.

I made a tray under my trimmer to catch the shavings. Basically just unbolt the trimmer from what you havebit bolted to and make thru holes in the box. I just loosen the vice and tip the whole trimmer and block over the trash.

Forgot to add, I bought the Lyman Power Adapter For Lyman Trimmers. So I am trimming with a power drill, which of course amplified the magnitude of the shavings' flight paths.

What? No Blue Voice's here? I love my Dillon RT1200. Vacuum attachment sucks all the cut pieces into the canister and knocks out 11-1,200 223 cases an hour on an XL650.

Could not be easier than this.................
