    Die Bushings?

Can someone simplify this for me? This is solely gonna be for my 338 since I've read people change the bushing in their resizing dies. But will this also be needed for 223 and 308 as well? I'm trying to understand the need for this, but all the terms are still a little Japanese to me. Thanks.

the bushing is used primarily for sizing the neck and controlling case neck size and tension. It would only need to be changed if it is worn, out of spec, or you are trying to change the neck profile of your case.

A bushing sizing die has a neck area that is cut away to allow interchangeable bushings to be installed, in order to better control the resulting neck diameter of the sized brass.

This is primarily done to control the amount of neck tension on the seated bullet.

I am not sure what you mean by "Will this also be needed for 223 and 308 as well?" If your 223 and 308 dies are neck bushing dies, then yes you will need to get the appropriate sized bushings for those dies. If they are standard dies, then you won't need neck bushings.
