Things I have learned in the last two weeks

Reloading your own bullets is awesome!

Best group at 14 yds shooting 230gr fmj w/ 4.6gr titegroup out of a USP45. Not bad considering I was standing and I have a bear of a time shooting the gun maybe time for a smaller frame gun. But I love that gun.

    All kidding aside.
    1. Reloading is awesome! You get to regulate what goes in your gun.
    2. Wolf is for AK's. I have been shooting Wolf out of my AR for about a year. Brass was cost prohibitive. But now I see why AR's prefer brass.
    3. Ask a lot of questions.
    4. Buy components whenever a good deal comes along even if you dont need the stuff right now.
    5. A progressive with a case feeder is indispensable. You can just bang through reloading. I decapped and swagged 1500 rounds of .308 and earned a new level of respect for those of you on a single stage.
    6. RTFM (Reading the F___ing Manual) I basically learned how to reload 4 different calibers just reading my Dillon manual.
    7. You dont need the bullet tray.
    8. You do need the 1" wrench from Dillon
    9. Measure your bench height. You may or may not need the strong mount. Strong mount + Dillon + my work bench = unremovable primer magazine (Hit ceiling)
    10. If you can afford it get the case feeder.

Congrats Joe... Yes sir, Reloading is fun and very rewarding, what a lot of folks need to understand is that it is also very time consuming, especially the case preparation for bottle neck rifle brass.

Many folks are just now getting into the reloading thing and unfortunately right now is kind of a bad time to find components and people are hoarding what ever comes up thus making everything unavailable.

Good job on your 45 loads! if you think that feels good, just wait till you start getting sub 1/2'' moa groups with your 308 loads......you'll be happy as a clam! Way to go!

Reloading has renewed my love for target shooting. The first time I shot my reloads in 7mm rem mag I was astounded. And my shoulder didn't suffer as much. It's a blast. Have fun with it!!

Before I used to read gun mags just for the pictures. Now I actually find the ammo and load data interesting. This bullet weight with this powder and gr has this outcome.

You will know that you have really been bit by the reloading bug when you start collecting brass, buy a die set, bullets & powder for a caliber that you don't even own. Than you are justified in buying a gun to go with them! Ask me how I know?

reloading is great, but the worse thing ever is pouring powder into each case individually, since i don't have a powder distributor yet.

I bought a lee perfect powder measure for $18. Havent tried it yet but maybe it is something you want to look into.

Hoarding is such a negative word. Just because I buy all the .308 brass I can doesnt mean I am hoarding. It's just hard to come be. haahahhahaha. Hoarding is when you over pay for something just so someone else doesnt have it. Well, maybe thats what we are all doing.

Which bullets did you end up getting for .308?
