    Buy Bulk 12 ga Slugs??

Anybody know where to buy 12ga slugs in bulk? As in just the slug itself, not a loaded cartridge. I can't seem to figure out where everybody goes to buy 1oz slugs if they're going to do some serious reloading. Savings in shotshell reloading is largely found in loading for slugs and OO, or exotic stuff.

The big box websites don't really sell slugs, except for in small quantities for big $$$.
With Wallyworld shells being pretty dang cheap, the cost of an individual slug projectile is practically higher than that of a loaded cartridge of birdshot!

And... just in case it comes up, i'd prefer to not cast my own slugs. I think the ladyfriend would heavily frown upon that...

Ballistics products has slugs, but bulk is considered 25. And as you stated it is expensive, most are $0.75-$1.00 per slug. That is insane pricing even though they are hi-tech slugs.

The problem is the amount of lead needed to make them. Your best bet would be to find someone who is casting slugs and supply them with lead and a few bucks for their time. If you were closer I would help you out. Good luck...

You don't need to find cheap slugs to buy, you need a new ladyfriend.

Casting can be done neatly and in a small outdoor space. Even a balcony or patio works. Put everything away in a 5 gallon bucket or box and set up/casting/breakdown/cleanup can be done in a tidy fashion.

6-1/4 cents a slug is a pretty good deal if you get lead at $1/pound. Compared to store bought slugs (if you can find them), that's a bargain even at twice the cost.

If you have the set up for loading shotshells or metallic cartridges, casting is just the next logical step.

          OP,

Before you start spending a bunch of money on Slugs you need to know the answer to this question:

Why does my, my shotgun shoot dead on at 9-12 yards and yet shoots a foot high at 50 yards and a little higher at 65-70 yards, and then hits dead on at 100 yards?

If you want to shoot 12 Gauge slugs and the above Flight of the Bullet above question has no baring, then I think your interest in reloading 12 gauges slugs will be very frustrating until you do.
