A pound with shipping and hazmat isn't worth it.

I was thinking like 10-15lbs if it's decent enough. Just plinking stuff.

If you must bulk order (no LGS to buy a pound and no trips planned where you could go to a LGS), I would stick with powders you know work or are glowingly recommended by MANY.
A pound of MANY different powders to try might be worth it...
Powders that work well for me in both are:
BL-C(2), 748, H380, Varget, and 4320.

I suggest a slightly slower powder. In the Western Powders product line there's AA2230 (aka Ramshot X-Terminator), AA2460, or Ramshot TAC. All 3 of those powders do well in .223 and .308.

I have used AA2230 for a long long time. My go to 223 powder.

Aa2230 sucks really bad! Don't ever use it!!

But for best, Varget is the best powder for 308.

How bout Accurate 2495?

Varget did not meter for my in a hornady. I have a Dillon 650 now, not sure how varget will meter in that.

I was never impressed with AA2520...not sure I would buy any accurate powders again.

Hodgdon has been really good in my experience. I get better results with their products.
