Yes , thats the one . The only real problem is the primers set in the tray and can / do fall out .
I only put from 10 to 25 at a time - gives your hand a rest and if they go flying , easier to / fewer to pick up .
The number of primers is determined by the number of cartridges the plastic box holds . This tells me how many primers to look for .
A primed case goes into another plastic shell holder .
I use a TV dinner tray as a table and put a towel on it .
I also wear latex gloves - any nick in case the gloves generally find .

gotcha...i was fixated on the "just received 1500" part.

ive owned and used a lot of hand priming tools and my 2 favorites are the K&M with the gauge and the sinclair...i use the K&M with new-er brass and after fired a few times i use the sinclair.

most ppl do not realize the importance of primer seating and the effects it has on hand loads...i would never use a press to seat primers...not even the coax which probably has the best priming set up of the presses.

Glad you told me VS dropping 100 primers and having to pick them all up

No worries; the brass was purchased from a member on here.

I wanted to have another supply of brass available; I like collecting resources.

I've read about primer seating, and how many go by "feel" when it comes to seating depth, etc. I'm interested in a simple, ergonomic tool that'll help me to achieve my own seating depth.

I didn't consider using my press for primer seating and don't intend on it.

              Kwikvette,

Have you heard of the Prometheus powder dispenser?

It's a RCBS Chargemaster on steroids.

I can check and see what I have. Would it be the same shell holder as the one you put in a reloading press ram, or is it unique to your re-priming tool?

Lee used to make a press mounted tool that they have since discontinued - it was called the Lee Auto Prime 2 Press Mounted Priming Tool.

I have one, and have been using it for years. I keep it mounted on a cheap Lee press, and it has been my priming station for just about forever.

                  Looks like this:

I use the RCBS primer, but it's mostly because I prefer to do a single step in a larger batch, plus I inspect all my cases at every stage of my process, which is just extra peace of mind. Best thing to do is look up videos of different priming methods and see what works best for your whole reloading plan. If there's a Bass Pro near you, I'd check them for small quantities of powder until you find one you like working with, personally for 77gr 5.56 and 308 I like varget, measured out by hand on a gravity scale and double checked on a digital. If you're using a dispenser though, you might have a preference to CFE223 for your 5.56 since it meters like water, plus there's cleanliness and stank-ness and other factors involved in your powder selection, but for experimenting, I'd go small scale then order some 8lb jugs and lump the hazmat fees together, some places like midway will even wave their primer hazmat fees if you order over a certain amount.

There are a couple of things to ask / look for -
There are mainly 2 sizes of primers - large and small . Do you get both ?
Than there are the shell holders - The cresent wrench type [ one size fits all ] An example is the 308 and 762 - different cases and same shell holder for each - then you get to 30 carbine , 30/30 , 30-06 .
Don't worry , you will end up with at least 2 [ someone will tell you your's sucks and this is a better one . ] Or it makes your hand sore - and you try another .

QV...if you want to know exactly what's going on with seating depth get the K&M with the gauge...if you want to seat by feel the Sinclair...that's the reason I have both...hard to seat new brass by feel for the first few firings because pockets are tight so the K&M...after a few firings the Sinclair.

I bought one just recently, thanks though!

I only needed it so I can deprime with my handpress whenever I felt like it.

I find that I will be loading and checking each round as I go. Sure it may be time consuming, but if I'm expecting match-quality ammunition, I feel it's only necessary.

Being in nor-cal, the only powder available is the stuff I can find at an LGS (over an hour away) and even then it's limited to few types.

I did stack up on RL15, because it seems both .308 and .223 call for it when aiming for accuracy.

I will do both large and small, but mainly small.

Fortunately, these handpriming tools have holders for both so that's a non-issue.

I liked what I read about the K&M, with the exception of the ergonomics which look similar to those recommended earlier.

                          But.............................................I just ordered the Sinclair

                          Only want the best; thanks

The ergonomics are not bad...it is a little top heavy and could be better balanced but after you use it a few times you get the feel for it....I've primed thousands of rounds with mine.

The Sinclair is a fantastic prime tool as you will see when you get yours...you can actually feel the primer touch the bottom of the pocket...you'll be happy with it.

Here's the K&M to give you an idea and I have small hands...

                              ^ Nice.

I'm really just down to getting the right tumbler (wet) and trimmer (possibly a Giraud).

Sucks Stilly got banned; I had just told myself yesterday I would be interested in buying some steel pins from him for wet tumbling.

I threw on 5 cases and seated some primers only for this to happen -

All part of the learning experience of course. I had to look online and found that, the stem that seats the primer should be unscrewed slightly to bring it up a bit. This way, you don't have to perform a full upward stroke and apply force to the rim (which is what I did). Doing so will bring up the primer and effortlessly seat it.

Just knocked out 40 and when I get the Sinclair, I'll knock out another 40.

I know this is nothing to most reloaders out there but I'm going to nitpick certain processes and see if tool A. works better than tool B.

The one I'm really going to look forward to is when I'm using an expensive set of dies vs a cheaper set.

I hope others that have never dived into reloading scroll through my thread and take this all as a learning experience.
