Load-X Ammo?

Load-X ammo any good? Anyone have any real problems with this stuff... .223 cal?

Load-X has been good for me. 30 Carbine, .223, 9mm, 40SW, all worked fine.

my 9mm and .45 acp works fine with them! oddly, he didn't seem to have as much today as he did the last time i was in cow palace (dec 06). and this was at opening time.

I never had any problems with it. There are some other threads here on CG asking the same question. Try doing a search.

I bought 40 pieces of .308 168gr reloads at the Vallejo show and that's the first time and last time I'm buying from them. 8 out of 40 were too long and would not chamber in my Rem700. I just pulled the bullets off and popped the primers out to reuse on my reloads. I don't know if they trim their cases at all.

Load-X Ammo

I haven't had any problems with the 9mm or 30 cal carbine ammo I've bought from them. I just called them up to pre-order some of the above, to pick up at the Cow Palace this weekend, and there was no problem. For the last year when I've gone to gun shows to buy ammo, I've noticed that if you don't get there early, you may find the ammo you want to buy all gone.

That's why I went so far as to pre-order this time. My local sources (stores in San Jose) that I bought from in the past have mostly dried up, and say that they can't get ammo (particularly 30 carbine) from the manufacturers, and what they get is snatched up instantly. I've got some milsurplus 30 carbine from a local store, but at high prices because it is scarce.

Lately (last year and more), I think that we who are gun enthusiasts are often somewhat panicked by the rumors of clampdowns by the feds (not an issue at this time) and the very real issue of the California state law that just passed (signed by the Gov) requiring ridiculous restrictions on ammo purchases by law abiding citizens. I don't want to get on a soap box about that one, just to say that criminals don't get their ammo from legal sources, so it is a pointless and stupid law. Well, small soap box. It will be fought under 2nd amendment rights as well as others.
