    Red Dot in 40SW

    Hello folks,

I'm looking for a basic sanity check on a 40SW load I'm about to start loading. This is just a plinking round I can give away to friends and family when they hit the range.

I'm looking at 6.0gr of Red Dot with a 135gr JFP. OAL: 1.105 I've seen a similar load elsewhere but it looks like a really full case when I drop the powder.

    Any thoughts?

    Thanks
    Eric

Not sure where you're getting your data but just from looking at it, looks like that will be a max pressure load or near max. Might want to back down at least 1/2 a grain and try it.. This is a fast pistol powder and builds pressure quickly, so you don't want to be too close to the max.

Anyhow, RedDot is a bulky flake propellent as such take alot of room in a the case, which I think is a good thing, since it makes it just about impossible to double charge.
    Luck favors the prepared.
