    Lead Free for Boar

What would be the best lead-free .30 cal bullet for boar? Im mainly looking for brand and bullet type seeing as how I still haven't decided which gun Im taking so I dont know how many grains yet. Probably leaning towards my 30-06.

    Thanks ahead of time.

If i didnt reload, id go for the corbon lead free w/ the tipped barnes tsx., other than that not sure what is available. Ive heard mixed reviews about nosler e-tip, but i do like the winchester products, just havent used them yet.

Thankfully I do reload and have looked into the barnes tsx 150 grain bullets. Just wasn't sure if anyone had any real world experience with any.

Barnes TSX all the way. I have been using them long before the lead ban. The great thing about the barnes is that they keep 99-100% of thier weight. allowing you to use a lighter weight bullet. with a 30-06 I would go with the 150 possibly the 165 thats up to you. There is no need for the 180 even on a big boar. All I do know is that I have shot many big game animals, and have never anchored more animals right in thier tracks as with the Barnes TSX.

I just got some .264 for my 6.5 Grendel, but haven't had a chance to load them up yet. Maybe this weekend.

I just picked up some Federal Premium Lead Free at Big5 the other day for pigs. .30-06 165 gr Barnes Triple shock. All for the bargain price of $48.99 for 20. Ouch. But I was there for my license and pig tags...
I'll be reloading some pretty soon.

I get 2600 fps out of my .308 using 150 gr Barnes TSX boattail. I can give you some feedback after this weekends hunting excursion. Accuracy is excellent from the bench measuring approx. .4" at 100yds on a five shot group.
