If Californians don't change their buying habits when buying online, the online retailers will do nothing more than possibly tag on a "transfer fee surcharge". However, if history is any indicator, Californians will start hoarding ammo and the usual culprits (ie, the like of Cheaper Than Dirt) will raise there prices in a gouge response
to supply and demand (then other online retailers will jump on the "what the market will bear" bandwagon ... in a perfect world, it doesn't cost them any more to ship to a permitted ammo vendor in CA (similar to FFL but for ammo only), it will then be up to the permitted ammo vendor in CA to come up with a "transfer" fee for their time in handing the ammo to you + overhead (background check, storage, etc), expect the online ammo vendors to want a piece of that pie, which is why you're likely to see a "if it ships to CA surcharge" when make the purchase online
