    My new old press

Randall (ar15barrels) had this for sale for a little over a month. When he still had it on Monday when I was there I decided to take it home.

    Before:

After some paint, a dremel, and TLC.

My Lee got mounted out in the garage for decapping/swagging only duty. One thing I really like about this new press is that it cams over unlike the Lee. That and the throw is much shorter. Hoping with the non bushing threads that it will also be more concentric.

Man, that is a solid looking old press. Good on the re-do. Load away!

Good job, man. I'm a big "Keep 'em flying" fan. No reason to toss a good tool just because it's a bit rusty.

Good job on the refurb, that's a great press to use.

I don't think I've ever bought a new reloading press, with the exception of the starter press I bought when I first entered the reloading world - a Lee 1000 I bought new in 1996. Still have that one, and it'd still going strong.

Presses just don't seem to wear out, especially those big old cast bruisers like the one you picked up.

1996. I'll date myself a bit. My first/only press, bought new: RCBS Rockchukar....1977 or '78. Still going strong. I use the crap out of that press.

I used Rust-Oleum Stops Rust Metallic Oil Rubbed Bronze. Washed it down first with degreaser and gave it one good coat. For all the bare metal with rust, I just used my sanding heads on my Dremel.

Thank you everyone. I was really happy to bring this press back to life.

Good catch . I don't know about it - does it take special shell holders ?
I use mainly Lee so I have 2 different Lee shell holders .
I am not a fan of bushings either , but they are O K for depriming

Wow, looks as good as new. I am jealous!
How much time did the refurbishing take and what did you pay all in all?

$50 for the press and I had the paint. I spent a couple hours on it.
