Where'd you hear that? I use and like TAC for .223, so I'am always on the lookout for independent info that validates my choice.

I heard from a reputable Calgunner a long time ago that Black Hills uses TAC, or some kind of TAC-based proprietary blend, in their blue and red box ammo. No proof though, just interweb talk.

The MK 262 / AA53 is the ammo they shoot at the Navy Matches up at Camp Pendleton. In the 4 years I've been shooting at the matches, using a WOA 7" upper, my "dope" has remained within a 1/4 MOA click. If I had more . . . I mean some, I would keep it for when it really mattered.
        Good stuff

I personally think MK262 spec ammo is hotter than it needs to be (accuracy-wise). But I believe they hot rodded the muzzle velocity so that it can be used in the M4 14.7" barrel for mid-range distances (i.e. 500-600 yards).

I duplicated the MK262 muzzle velocity with 77gr SMKs by using 25.3gr Varget. I blew out a couple primers (granted using Winchester and not Remington 7-1/2 or CCI). It was 2780+ fps out of a 1:7" 18" barrel.

Just for comparison, I use 24.0gr of RL15 with a 77gr out of my 1:7" 20" Service Rifles for 2775 fps.
