Range ammo?

Fresh blood here. I am going to get ammo tomorrow and the store could probably recommend ammo, but they all seem grumpy, so I thought I'd ask here first.

I have a Glock .45ACP.

Just wondering what you would recommend for ammo at the range?

Is there a specific brand you choose or material?
What seems to be the cheapest?

wolf .45acp. If they don't have wolf, then look for the cheapest priced ammo that they have. If there is a wallmart near your house, go see if they have cheap .45acp ammo and buy there instead of the range, you will get raped at the range with ammo prices.

Well, as another Glock owner once told me, his Glock 21 is an "ammo slut". It takes anything you put in it.

I'm not a big .45 guy but the .45 ACP ammo I use at the range are Magtech, Federal AE, PMC, Speer Lawman, CCI Blazer Brass and Aluminum.

As far as cheapest goes, it depends on where you get ammo at. Walmart, local gun store, gun shows, online vendors. I tend to buy ammo online and my local gun stores. It's been a long, long time since I've purchased ammo at Walmart.

All of the above mentioned ammo is pretty good for range use. I really like the CCI Aluminum ammo. Check to see if your local range will allow you to shoot aluminum cased ammo first before you commit to buying a lot of it.

EDIT: As what the Chief said, try not to buy ammo at the range unless you what to be raked over the coals on the huge mark up. One range I went to wanted to charge me $20 for a box of 9mm range ammo.

ammobros in cerritos sells reloads for a good price, but yeah, don't get ammo at ranges they usually add $1-$3 for 50 rounds.
