Need some help loading .40 S&W

Ok so I got some Hodgdon HS-6 and 180 gr JHP bullets to go with it. From Hodgdon's website the only 180 gr bullets are HDY XTP. Is there any difference between JHP and HDY XTP? The same goes for my lee book. It only has XTP listed for 180 grain and hodgdon HS-6. I'm a bit confused, this is my first batch of reloads and I dont want to do anything wrong. Any help would be much appreciated.

Okay I've been searching everywhere. I managed to get someone to help me off yahooanswers. I just want to double check with any of you here. This guy claims that HDY XTP is a hornady XTP bullet thats a Jacketed Hollow Point. So if what that guy claims is true it should be ok to use the 180 gr HDY XTP load data from the Hodgdon website. Can someone here please confirm thats correct. I'm pretty paranoid I guess but again this is the first time I've reloaded ammunition.

If you are using bullets of the same weight and material (jacketed, lead, etc) then you can interchange them at starting - medium load levels and work up to optmum/maximum in your gun.

        XTP's are Honadys premium JHP.
Some people will do skanky things for $25, and not all those people are crack whores.

Start your loads at -10% and work your way up to the suggested load. Look for signs of overpressure i.e flattened primers, etc.

          Not legal advice, of course!
