Hodgdon data, 158gr: Something's wrong here?

    700x:
    4.9 gr w/SWC Lead - 1137 FPS, OR 5.7gr w/JHP - 1150 FPS,
Both going w/in 13 FPS of each other?

Both are listed as .357 diameter.

Does this look like it could even be right?

Yes it looks perfectly fine to me. One is a jacketed bullet the other is a cast lead. Jacketed bullets take more powder to get equal velocity of a cast lead bullet.

On my limited gun it takes 5.0gr of N320 to Power Factor when I use coated cast bullets, when I change to Montana Golden Bullets it takes 5.4gr to make the same Power Factor.
If you want change you have to put in your 2 cents, you can't just sit on the sidelines and whine.

Looks fine, why would it not look right, it isn't as if they were the same bullet...one is a jacketed bullet and the other is cast.

There is a similar difference between coated lead and plated.

This is why you should have several reloading books / manuals .
Miss prints can do bad things .
When in douth check somewhere else .
There are a bunch of sites out there .
The big thing about cast is the speed the pill starts to fall apart .
Even FMJ = depends on who makes them . Different grades of copper / hardness .
My desert eagles manuals say not to use cast . I only use jacketed pills 75% of my guns are semi autos . A few revolvers and bolt action .
Another thing is cleaning / handling lead
