Reloading is a learning process for sure.I am just getting started. Thanks for the info even the criticism. I guess my expectations for ammo brothers was too hi. That supply shop in covina is closed on all my days off or i would have gone their first.Comment

Except for load recipes for specific powders, everything you ever wanted to know about reloading is on YouTube. Manuals have load recipes. I have several and if I had to choose just one it would be lyman's.Comment

DO NOT use Win 760 in your M1 Garand. Much too slow and will damage your Garand. Chalk it up as a lesson learned and you're out $20 or so. Win 760 is a good powder for bolt action 30-06 but a no-no for a Garand. Use powders on the burn rate chart for your Garand between IMR 4895 and IMR 4064. Gun store clerks are often totally clueless about reloading and will sell something just to make a sale.Comment

No on the 760. I have used Win748 for many, many years with 55 and 40gr bullets. H335 is also a good choice. Benchmark is one I also use for 40gr bullets. I also use 748 and benchmark for 36 &50gr Barnes VG bullets.
I do not load heavier bullets. If I want more bullet weight I use a 25cal rifle/pistol.
If you are near me I will be glad to help you out. Or you can PM me for my phone # and we can talk.A 30cal will reach out and touch them. A 50cal will kick their butt.

Dude let me check my stuff. I believe i have a lee first edition for you and a set of the dippers you can have since i know you are semi local or i can use it as an excuse to go to one of the c and r shoots again. I know i have the dippers but not sure about the manual.I support peace through superior firepower.

Whoa ladies, put the claws back in...wow. So somebody asks for advice and we just tear them apart? No wonder people don't want to deal with Californians...
Anyhow, it's definitely not a bad idea to get some manuals and at least a cheap digital scale, but there's no reason you can't find a good dip-load for basic .223. Is this for a bolt gun or semi-auto? Also, I have a literal crap-ton of manuals and data if you need it, and also a scale. Remind me and i'll put it in my work truck and drop it off to you in my travels.Comment
