All the lead sitting in derelict boats on the East Coast

Just got back from Florida. Wow there are derelict boats everywhere.

Your probably wondering how much lead could there be?

Watch this....just one boat a little 34' sailboat.

I love the part where he was using a circular saw on lead without any mask. Lead dust is nasty stuff to inhale

I'd say, let's go get it, but getting it home would be problematic and not economically viable.
      .
But it sure would be fun.
      .
I'm sure there is Government funded programs for such. LOL

I've noted Derelict Vessels here in my town as late too. Well, derelicts anyway..... to which I would say, Get the Lead out. LOL

you should see the govt liquidation auctions. they liquidate by the ton, and a comma is often involved in the qty.

I don't like it when people chime in to threads like this to be a wet blanket and rain on someone's parade but I will make an exception here because I don't want any of my fellow Calgunners to get burned.

I have watched industrial casters pour keels and I will tell you that they are not overly concerned with what goes in the mix. Zinc, etc. is not uncommon. They do try to skim off the slag though.

I have purchased keel lead before with good results but you guys should try to have it checked before you spend a lot of money.

Wet blanket mode off, back to the party.

            Happy Father's Day my brothers!

My back checked out just watching it - time for a vicodin.
Big job. I'd worry about moisture between the foam insulation and hull more than the lead touching the aluminum which it had been doing since the boat was built.
