    9mm, I can't justify it anymore

I'm looking at 9mm on Cabelas for 15.9 cents. It takes me two hours to load 600+ rounds. Not including case gauging and cleanup. Gonna tape up my jug of pistol powder and buy factory.

223 and 5.56, I swear I load better than any ball ammo I can find. Will continue to load those just because I see a benefit.

Didn't think 2017 would turn out this way.

Well if you live in Kalifornia you better think it over again. No more internet ammo purchases starting next year. If your a frequent shooter it would be worth stepping up to a fine progressive machine. I did and I can crank out 600 rounds in about 45 minutes. No case gauging and no clean up unless I spill something.

I reload 9 because I already reload other calibers. If 9 was all I was loading, i probably wouldn't bother either.

Yea you can still make your own for cheaper, tailor your load for specific purposes, etc. But if you're just plinking at the range, factory is fine.

I'm loading Precision Delta 124gr JHp for 16c a round, mostly because I paid more for the primers than they are currently and I ran ott of range brass and had to buy a few thousand. I load plated 124s for about 13c a round

Cast your slugs, Coat them, way cheaper. I get lead bars at $1.00 a pound and set a day for casting. Edit: I now have BT Snipers swager kit,,to make jacketed 40/10mm slugs from 9mm castings.

I'll continue to reload 9mm because my loads are tailored for competition. Can't get the same performance out of factory ammo.

On the other hand, I have no issues with buying factory 9mm for plinking.

I can still load 9mm at about 11 cents each right now at 1200-1600/hr.

Its a significant savings when you shoot about 20k per year. It also allows me to tinker with the loads for 3 gun and USPSA. s

Many people starting out plan to load 9mm or 223 because that's what they shoot the most. I went with 8mm & 30-06 because that's what I shot the least. Instead of trying to cut 5 or 10 cents off the cost of common ammo, I was cutting 40-60 cents off the cost of expensive ammo. For the cost of 2 boxes of 30-06, I'm able to shoot off 10-12 en bloc clips in the Garand.

Herters Brass 9mm is .148/rd ($7.41/box) right now at Cabelas with this weekends extra 10% off, landed on your doorstep, if you have the SVM gift cards. 380, 40SW is not much more.

All Herters handgun ammo is 25% off + extra 10% and free ship with code (57SALUTE) if $99+, then another 20% with SVM cards and 2% cash back if you are into that. http://www.cabelas.com/product/Herte...678%7CSUBFEAT2

Last fall I got 9mm Rem UMC 147grain for .087/rd landed after all discounts and rebates.

I switched to NATO calibers as it was so cheap to buy factory ammo.. or milspec ammo

I shoot far too much to buy once a year, and the chep stuff is OK but not tailored to my application. For 3c a round more I will stick to my JHP handloads.

When I cannot load my own or run short -it does happen- I try and find 124gr Blazer brass or American Eagle, but my guns will run pretty much anything if they have to.
