How many rounds of wolf do you usually go through consecutively before you get a stuck case? Today, I only managed 70 rounds before I sheared the rim and had to break out the cleaning rod. Man it was a pain, it was just getting fun, I was doing 1 second rapid fires with Wolf MC .223 and getting 6" groups at 100 yards with irons until I had to switch back to brass. The brass cleaned out the chamber a little bit but I was still hesitant to shoot the wolf fearing head case separations.

Do you have the new Wolf or the older stuff? Is it kind of a gray color?sigpicLord, make my hand fast and accurate.
Let my aim be true and my hand faster
than those who would seek to destroy me.
Grant me victory over my foes and those who wish to do harm to me and mine.
Let not my last thought be 'If I only had my gun."
And Lord, if today is truly the day you call me home, let me die in an empty pile of brass.

I fired 300 hundred rounds first day of a class, fired about 100 the next day then let off a 60 round string. Reloaded and let the next round sit in the chamber when I fired it sheared the rim off. That was with black box wolf.Comment

its the newer wolf I think, Unless the one with the shiny varnish coating is the new one.
this is the one i used.

Im thinking, I load 2 brass cased rounds first then the rest wolf, the brass would act as a swifter picker upper. Or I could just run brass all day.. But man.. ammo is pricey, especially the good stuff. If you seek peace, prepare for warComment

Yep, that is the newer polymer coating. The old ones are brown and coated with lacquer. Strange, usually it's recommended that you don't mix brass/wolf ammo in fear of the brass case getting stuck, not the other way around. I'll also add that I've shot nothing but wolf (in 7.62x39) through my ak without a hitch...Comment

hmm.. I guess ill give the wolf a couple more trys, My ak shoots wolf too but I havent taken her out much lately. No problems though with wolf ammo in the ak. I just get a cold chill down my spine when I have to insert a cleaning rod muzzle end first. If you seek peace, prepare for warComment

I have a Stag upper that was fairly tolerant of it at first but the last 2 times I have taken it out it has been in the 60-80 round range that I get a stuck case. And when I say "stuck" I mean it, you have to really drive that sucker back out of the chamber, not cool and I will not be using anymore of that stuff in that particular upper.Comment

Im still waiting for my chamber brush from brownells, I tried my best to get out the carbon in my chamber but I just cant reach the neck. Damn steel cased ammo.If you seek peace, prepare for warComment

i only get problems with wolf when the ar is dry. i'll give it a hit of clp spray and it'll run for the day (300 rounds). the only time i've had a case stuck was when it was dry. i remember cause i've never seen a case stuck in with the rim broken off before. that was #200 for the day. but i just give it some juice and it keeps running. i'm using the black box polymer nonmagnetic.Originally posted by bubbapug1how to make a sig better...trade it in for a glock.Comment

I've found the key to preventing this seems to be to clean the chamber real well after each use......I've shot thousands of rounds without a hiccup as long as I cleaned the chamber....if I don't...stuck case!Comment

Hmm ill try a little oil next time.
I just like wolf because its relatively accurate and cheap. Also I dont have to scrounge around in the dirt for my brass. And the fact that I bought 1000 rounds and only shot 70 lol..
