Looking at a Remy 760 in .06 been told I would need a special full length die for it, anyone got experience with reloading for one?

I've reloaded for a Remington 742 Automatic and have had no issues using a standard 30-06 die set. Some will recommend a Small Based sizing die set. The small based sizer will size the base of the case a little more. The small based sizer will size cases closer to a factory sized case. Factory sized cases are sized to fit all types of rifles and chambers so they size to minimum specs. Unless your rifle has a match or tight chamber, most don't, then I'd get the standard full-length die set. I would highly recommend getting a case gauge to adjust your sizing die to only push the case shoulder back a minimum amount. Hornady's Headspace Gauge Set mounts on your calipers and compares cases fired in your rifle versus your sized cases. Remington pump and semi-autos tend to have long maximum length chambers. You should only push the shoulder back about .004" for the pump or automatic. Keeps brass from stretching and avoids cases separating and prolongs the life of brass. Nothing special needed loading your 760.

i had a 30-06 760 and didn't have any problems reloading ammo for it with standard Lee dies. Didn't need small base resizing die.

I think you mistook full length sizing for small base dies. Full length sizing is different than neck sizing. Neck sizing can only be used for bolt rifles and can help preserve case life longer. Plus it probably sods accuracy since the case will fit the chamber nicely. Autos need full length sizing to load and feed correctly. Yeah, it shortens case life. I get maybe 2-3 good loadings for my garand. However they are still useful with trailboss or 10gr unique loads.

They're not liberals, they're leftists. Please don't use the former for the latter. Liberals are Locke, Jefferson, Burke, Hayek. Leftists are progressives, Prussian state-socialists, fascists. Liberals stand against the state and unequivocally support liberty. Leftists support state tyranny.
