    Winchester SXT discontinued?

I'm running low on my Winchester SXT 45ACP (S45) ammo. When I went online to find some more, I expected most places would be out-of-stock but I didn't expect to see "MFG DISCONTINUED ITEM".

Is this true? Is Winchester now cutting out the civilian sector completely on their SXT ammo (Black Talon)?

I just got a new brochure with lots of new stuff in it. There is a new bullet that will take its place in the civilian market. forgot what its called. but they have the ranger T and the ranger bonded. Both high quality rounds. The T seems to be more like the SXT. And the bonded doesnt expand as much. I think the bonded one got the FBI contract because it performed better through obstacles.

If you want some real 45 black talon let me know. I started with a full case last month and have sold about half so far.

THE T-SERIES IS THE SAME AS THE SXT,,THE ONLY DIFFERENCE IS ITS NOT +P. I WAS TOLD BY THE WINCHESTER REP THAT THE SXT STOOD FOR SAME/EXACT/THING IN REFERENCE TO THE BLACK TALON.

AFAIK the ranger T series is on its 4th or 5th generation while the SXT is basically still 1st or 2nd gen.

Also the civilian marketed rounds lack the sharp petals or "talons"

              Thanks for your responses.

The reason I'm looking for the SXT is because you don't have to jump through hoops and pay through the nose to acquire it unlike true Black Talon and Ranger T-series (LEO sales). But, as mentioned in my original post, some on-line websites are claiming that the easier to acquire, less expensive, civilian version of T-series, S45 has been discontinued by Winchester.

Must be true. I just got a case of RA45T and the cavity is much smaller than the "flying ashtray" ones on my remaining SXT rounds.

ombexpress carries and ships Ranger T ammo to everyone at good prices (they take backorders too):

Wish they would carry RA45TP (+P).

That is where I bought the case of RA45T from. I'm disappointed because they no longer have the big, wide cavity like Talons of old or SXT.

It's possible they may have redesigned the bullet; the new cavity may be smaller in diameter but the terminal performance may be the same which is really all that counts. I can understand why they would want to make the cavity smaller in diameter (for feeding reliability in some guns). I use to load the old Speer 200gr "flying ashtrays"; problem was they were never fully reliable in any of my guns.

Yeah, it looks like a few redesigns have occurred:

Oh well. I'm sure the performance is just as good if not better and you may have a point with the FTF issues.
