Which Powder for 9mm and 10mm Both?

Hey guys, I am about to go pick up a new G20sf and a Lee Reloading kit. I already have a G17 and a bunch of once fired cases and plan to get some 10mm cases off the net. My question is, which powder would be my best bet to use for both calibers for plinking rounds. I dont wanna buy to many different things just to start out, as im already gonna spend a bunch on a new gun and a starter set to reload. I am a beginner so the primo stuff doesnt matter to me ATM, just looking for the most bang for my buck. Also, can I use the same primers for these two calibers, or do I need magnums for the 10mm? Thanks all. Also I know not to use hardcast in a stock glock barrel, I will be using FMJ's untill I can get an aftermarket barrel for these 2 guns.

      9x19 is Small Pistol Primer

      10mmAuto is Large Pistol Primer

For plinking loads Unique will work well in both. If you want alittle more omph then PowerPistol or WAP (if you can find it) These are smokeless pistol powders.

I've used Power Pistol in both:

          9mm 125gr JHP 5.1 - 5.7gr WSP 1.075" Lyman
          10mm 180gr JHP 7.2 - 8.0gr WLP 1.250" Lyman

If you're just plinking I like using IMR 700-x. I can get many more rounds out of a 1lb can. A 115gr FMJ in 9mm will hit 1130 with only 4.7grains of 700-x versus the same bullet hitting 1200 with 7 grains of HS6. It may not seem like much but that's 1480 rounds per pound of 700-x and only a 1000 if you use HS6. Hornady also has a few loads for 10mm using 200 grain XTP's and around 5.5 grains for 700-x

I don't know if it will work for 9mm but Longshot has a load that will push a 180g bullet to 1300fps!! I have not found another powder that gets anywhere near 1300fps in 10mm. I am going to be loading for a 20SF here soon but still need brass, bullets and dies.

also look into hodgen tight group. low charge rate.so it last pretty long and offers low recoil.great for plinking ammo.

I dunno, I've never been much for guns. I mean, sure, we have the usual gun by the door, another near the TV, one in the kitchen, and another in the bedroom...and several others laying around. For the most part though, we keep our home free of guns. We are peace loving folks.

I use Power Pistol for my fun 10 and 40 loads. Also Blue Dot works well. Apart from those I use Unique for pretty much everything as it is very economical and forgiving.
