    Removing case lube

I use a Dillon 650 to reload all my handgun ammo. Since I have carbide dies, I never gave much thought to case lube removal.

Well I just finished loading 1,600 rounds of .308 on the 650 and used the Dillon case lube on them. I know the lube needs to be cleaned off, but I am not looking forward to cleaning them one at a time. Is there any good way to make this part of the job quicker or should I just put a pile of ammo next to me and settle in to watch a good long movie?

You can tumble live ammo? I saw a recomendation to lube decap and size then retumble and load.

I have done it without any problems. I now tumble before I load though.

There has been a couple informative threads about the topic of tumbling live ammo. All of the actual tested cases show that there's no detrimental effect on tumbling live ammo. The bullets didn't hit eachother and cause some chain reaction of doom and the tumbling didn't break down the powder to cause a much higher burn rate leading to catastrophic pressures upon ignition. Can all that happen? Yes. Did it happen to a guy tumbling ammo for 24 hours / day for a couple weeks? No.

I wouldn't worry about doing it for a couple minutes.
