    CPS Lite Priming Tool

So I just crossed off a major want on my list. I just got a CPS Lite from Primal Rights. For those of you who don't know what it is...

So a little back story, I hated priming my cases by hand. I then switched to the Lee Safety Prime because I have a Lee Breech Lock press. Its worked well for the last few years, but the speed of it just wasn't that great. I've been looking for a good priming solution ever since. I've seen a few reviews on this unit and really been wanting one for its speed and accuracy.

Well today I got an offer I couldn't refuse. Primal Rights put these on a "Flash Sale" of sorts. They're offering them at 50% off and free shipping. They said its a limited amount of units, but no idea what that amount is. You can use coupon code SPRINGLITE through the link above.

When I get mine I'll be updating this thread with my thoughts of the unit. Just wanted to share in case anyone else wants to take advantage of the sale.

They must have sold the "limited" number. Seems pretty cool for 50% off, regular price is steep.

Anybody else use this unit? It seems pretty handy

I dunno, it looks as expensive as it is. I use my trusty Lee, have Rheumatoid Arthritis, and haven't primed more than 500 at a sitting, resting briefly as needed. I like having the feel of the amount of resistance when priming. Some of us wear a Rolex, some of us wear a Timex. Personal choice.

            CPS Lite Priming Tool

It shipped today so I'm hoping to have it by the weekend. I have few hundred .223 pieces to load so it's going to be a good test.

I know lots of guys go off of feel when priming. But do you think that feel is more accurate than something with a dead stop on it? This gives me both speed and accuracy.

As far as the price, it's machined item. Nothing on it is cast or plastic unlike other priming units out there.

I have had some new and old brass take the primer very hard, and some used brass so easy that I marked them for disposal after shooting them. The ones that are very hard to start get set aside to find out why.

If the coupon worked I would have picked one up just because it looks like it could be a cool tool for the bench... But at full price I don't feel like it's worth it...

$200.00 Not to mention it does not auto advance the next primer. Looks like a three handed operation. Advance primer, place case in shell holder, pull press handle and remove case. Then it seems you need tools to remove the shell holder. Not at that price.

The price is about 2/3rd of the way to a progressive that basically does the same thing but automates the shell movement and deprimes and sizes at the same time.

Edit: Also, it doesn't appear to have an explosion shield like the popular progressive presses.

Its not a 3 handed operation. You position the slide handle so that when you bring the ram down you simply reach over and give it a quick slide to load a new primer.

The instructions state not to use tools on the bolts so hold the shell holder. Its hand tight only.

Its not meant to be as fast as a progressive. Its meant to give you dead accurate precision. There is a hard stop on the prime ram so your primers all seat at the same depth every time.

The primer shuttle keeps the primer being seated seperate and enclosed away from the tube. So if you do get dettonation it's containted.

As far as the price goes...its a precision machined tool made in America. At $200 its really not that expensive for a tool to last a lifetime. Hell it cost me damn near $100 to take my family out for one dinner. Thats only good for a few hours, lol.

                        Comes well packaged.

                        Detailed instructions.

Small and large primer shuttles and the die body.

Here's a quick video showing the use. I need to clean and decap this batch of brass still, so I haven't set anything here.

Got it up and running today guys! Man is this thing sweet. I did ten pieces to test is all and get it adjusted. Then I did 90. The time incudlding loading the feed time was about 15 minutes and thats not hauling either.

I made a video on my second go around. I didn't even count how many I did here. But as you can see I adjusted my Lee handle so I had a very short throw. I also had one case in the video where I didn't remove enough crimp so you see me set it aside. I had the shell holder turned to where I can see the primer being feed into the case.

Received mine yesterday and got it going. Pretty sweet, I like how you have your handle set up, thanks for the heads up.
