Hello,
I have been reloading for about a year, never for accuracy, and have felt my simple, imperfect loads to be "good enough" for hitting milk jugs and soda cans at 75yards.
I took about 40 of these rounds i loaded to the range to see how they do against a paper target, and the results were less than satisfactory. Tried about [6] 5-shot groups at 100 yards. all of the groups ranged from 2.5-4 inches. And the gun was a Remington 700! sand bags and a harris bipod, 16x scope. pretty pathetic huh?
so i decided i want to try some loads for accuracy. I've hand a pound of Varget for a while, figured i'll use that as the powder. For the bullets, i decided to buy a 50pk of Nosler Ballistic Tip Boat Tails. 165gr. i have CCI and remington primers.
How many grains of Varget?
OAL of Cartridge?
Rem or CCI primers?
Was getting the Nosler bullets a good choice?
thanks in advance
