    338 Lapua Die question

I can use some help. I got a Savage 112 Magnum Target to play with and looking to some day shoot it at the URSA match in Clear Lake. But before that, I need to start reloading some and I have a question on what Redding die set I should get.

I see JMP suggests the Redding competition bushing neck die set but will the full length type S die set work instead? I have never used separate dies for the body and neck but I have used the type s bushing dies.

I prefer full length sizing brass, so the one you plan on getting would work. I would also consider looking at Whidden dies.

You want the full length type S bushing neck die
It sizes everything like a standard die but has the interchangeable bushings for the neck.
In the past dies were made to fit all brass available so the necks get overly sized and split early due to work hardening of the brass.
With the full length type S neck dies you load one round measure the outside diameter subtract 0.003 and order up a bushing which with Lapua brass is around 0.367 - 0.003 = 0.364
