Redding competition seating die?

If you have one, can you tell me if it comes with different stems for different bullet shapes? If not, does it work well with both flat point and round nose?

Well they are sold in caliber specific models. and I don't think they'd have one specifically for a flat pointed bullet as that wouldn't be considered a competition bullet.

It comes with one stem and is a competition type seater so it is meant to work with match type bullets.

Is this rifle or pistol rounds?

I own several and I have never needed to change the seating stem for different bullet shapes. I have them in 9mm, 40 S&W, 45 ACP, 223 Rem, 308Win. I don't recall it they come with different shapes.

I have also seated thousands of 9mm 147gr Flat Points from Bayou and Leather Head. In fact I've seated almost every conceivable 9mm bullet shape without a problem. The Redding Comp Seating Die is the gold standard.

I don't suppose you could help out with a good load and COL for that bullet. i have looked all over and not found anything for the N320 powder I will be using. I figured 1.142 COL, since that is what most other bullets say, and I was going to move up to 3.3gr, since 3.1 would not cycle.

Ordered the comp seating die for 9mm, and the whole set for 45ACP. I should be GTG for a while now.

Still hoping for some info on COL for the 147 gr bullet. If nothing comes, I will play around a bit and see what happens.

The Competition Seating die only comes with one seating stem.

The cavity is very deep and does not contact the nose of the bullet at all. The stem contacts the bullet at it's ogive, so seating depth is very uniform.

While recently loading some .38Spl, I loaded RN, RNFP and FP bullets. The Redding die seated each very uniformly, once adjusted for their differing ogives. What is nice is that I can switch between bullet shapes and just turn the micrometer to the previously recorded setting to obtain the desired OAL

YMMV I load the 147gr flat point to 1 .120 and use 3.3 to 3.4gr N320 with Fed or Win primers. This gives me a USPSA power factor from 127 to 133. My gun is a Tanfo S2. That load also works in my Kimber 1911, but I need to up the charge 0.1gr in my CZ SP-0's to make power.

Made a batch of 147gr over 3.3 N320 at 1.130 and they worked flawlessly and produced between 128 and 133 PF. Not a single one failed the case gauge test, so the Redding die is da bomb.

So glad to find out it wasn't me doing something wrong.
