Specifically under 62 grain ttsx. I'm trying to get ahead of lead ban and, having a hard time finding info with this newer powder. Hodgon only lists one load on their site and it's for 62gr scirrocco bonded. Barnes doesn't list 4166. Would the Barnes minimum varget load be a good starting point? Or does anyone have good Data?

If I were you, I'd go with the data from Hodgdon for the other 62gn bullet. Drop a bit for added drag (I'm assuming this bullet has a longer bearing surface than the Scirrocco?) or just start at the min and work your load up from there.
I would not get into the "this powder is pretty close so I'll use that data" game.
The other option, of course, would be to call IMR (Hodgdon) or Barnes directly and ask what they think. They may have data that is not published on their web sites. -
Thanks for the reply and advice. I hadn't considered calling them directly.Comment
