    Federal XM856

They state they're 64gr. but they're actually 55. I wondered how the heck a 64 was doing 3300FPS from my 20" AR. I just pulled one as I was talking with a guy at RMR reloading about identifying tracers and what the base should look like and decided to weigh it. It's pretty shocking that they advertise them as 64.

If you're in CA, I'd recommend deleting this post if those bullets are what they say they are

I live in Ca. but they were bought in Az and that's where I keep them. Thanks for the warning tho. They are tracers and they do work.

I bought a mixed bag of .224 bullets from RMR shipped to Ca. and found a few 62gr. tracers (actually weigh 61 but apparently that's typical for them) in the mix so we had a conversation, they're now sorting them out of the mix. Even tho an accident, it could get them and the recipient in a world of trouble.

He nor I have been able to figure out for sure if buying/selling/owning unloaded tracer bullets are illegal, but better safe than imprisoned.
