JHP vs. SJHP ??

Besides the obvious , whats the difference in damaged caused between the jacketed hollow point and the semi jacketed hollow point?

the only thing I could find, is that the semi was older technology and has been replaced by the newer jacket version. Any truth to that?

Theres no universal rule. Even between two JHP bullets, both can behave significantly different.

The idea was that the semis would penetrate more but still open up. But modern HP's open up and penetrate very well, if designed to do so. Some JHP's will not open very much, but penetrate like crazy. Some penetrate very shallow and basically explode apart.
