Storing Ammo in the attic

I want to store my ammo in the attic. In the summer it can get to around 130 degrees up there. Is it safe to store ammo there?

It's not going to explode or anything....but it's not good for the ammo. It will degrade much quicker than normal.

Yep. Cool & Dry is the ticket for long term ammo storage.

Attic is one of the worst places to store the ammo. I store plinking ammo in garage and match ammo in the closet where is nice and cool. I also store powder and primers in the closet. I don't care about clothes.

Terrible idea and it will degrade your powder. Shuffle something else up there instead.

I guess I am a little paranoid, but I think every on here probably is in one way or another, and rightfully so.

When I start thinking. I need to hide the ammo, because if a burglar finds some .223, then he is going to be looking for the rifle. No I need to find a place to hide the rifle.

Yes, it sounds like you are too paranoid. You should already have a nice size safe to store your guns and most of your ammo, if you don't have a safe already I would suggest that you get one or sell one of your guns to get one.

i dont like lifting heavy objects twice so i keep my ammo low
