which primers?

I'm brand new getting into reloading and want to make my first batch of .308. I got my press, powder, bullets, but what primers? On the bottle of powder it says to use federal 210 with 150 gr Nos. BT, but when I go to the Hodgdons website it doesn't list primers for any other loads. The one I was looking at was:

165gr Hornady SP - 41 grains of Hodgdon H4895 powder - but which primer?

- FED210 or CCI 200 or 34

OK:
- WLR (but these are smaller in diameter), easier to get loose

I wouldn't touch:
- Wolf

Wolf primers performed exceptionally well when I tested it. I don't work for the Wolf. I just received the primers and tested side by side with Fed 210Ms. You'd be surprised with the results. I have some opportunities to test some firearms replated products due to the nature of my job.

Jicko, if you want, I can give you couple hundred of the Wolf large rifle primers. Wolf gave me 1,000 and I have used couple hundred and gave away couple hundred. I still have a few hundred of them left.

This is the result out of my Remington 700 XCR tactical rifle.

At STARTING loads, it does not matter.
Don't work up to a max load and THEN change primers.

Pretty much nailed it. From what I was told is the Fed 210 vs. Fed 210M is the M(match) primers are made in smaller batches and hand inspected. Otherwise same recipe/build - just not inspected as closely.

I couldn't find either of the Fed primers and now am using CCI BR2's.

are you aiming for accuracy (match grade) or plinking/fun shooting.

I use the Federal 210M for accurate grade and CCI 200 for fun stuff
