Should I Buy A Case Feeder for Hornady LNL?

I'm about 80% sold on the idea. Whenever I reload I do it in bulk runs. Is it worth it?

Yes, it does add 1 more thing to monitor when reloading. But speeds up the process tremendously

If you're not using a bullet feeder, a case feeder is a good addition.

It's one less thing you have to pay attention to, so the left hand only has to place the bullet in the case. You get to pay more attention to the powder drop/powder cop. You just check to see that the case is correctly inserted while you prime.

Be aware that the case feeder is limited in how many cases you can place in it at one time. Also that certain cases will require additional parts (you just have to ask for them)

I got mine through Jet.com when they had a sale...good price, plus free shipping and an additional 15% off as a first time buyer

I'm trying out the bully adapter for the boolits still waiting for my boolit drops from Mr bulletfeeder. So I should be going in the next couple of weeks, so I'm putting off getting the brass feeder for now. It's tempting tho.

If you can afford it is a good, but not necessary addition; as mentioned it does add one more item to check but it speeds up the process overall.

They can take a lot of patience and time to get it to feed properly but when they do they definitely speed up the process for bulk plinking ammo

How many people have to "tinker" with the red machine to get it to work right. Just drink the blue kool aid and be happy.

I would be happy if the blue cool aid fan boys would stop crapping on Hornady threads.

I divide my bulk runs of 9mm into 2 separate runs on the LNL. Well actually I have separate presses dedicated to the different tasks.

I first decap/FLS/expand then wet tumble and hand prime.

The second run completes the cartridge. I use a bullet feed die with DIY tubes.

I've contemplated a case feeder also but I've determined that I simply can't go faster than I already do without it.

If you don't already have it you need a bullet feed system, not a case feeder.

The Hornady (unlike it's blue friend) lends itself to hand feeding cases quickly with your left hand while your right hand never has to leave the handle.

It only slows down if you are trying to handfeed both cases and projectiles.

There have been a few threads about people having to "tinker" with their blue machines too so don't act like blue machines are perfection either.

What next? 9mm is the greatest round and we don't need anything other than a glock 19?

If you have to ask then the answer is, No!

Not true. If you have to ask buy both.

Since I added the bullet feeder (the famous $28 feeder) to my LnL, I don't think the case feeder would speed up my process much, if at all. I do lust after one, though, but I don't see how it would help. As has been stated, you simply grab a case with your left hand as your right runs the machine. Cases really feed well into the LnL by hand so a feeder would just do what I manually do but without much difference in speed.

Now if I had to choose between a case feeder and a bullet feeder (assuming the cost was close), I think I'd opt for the case feeder. But the cost is nowhere near close so...
