    Progression

I like to take the path of least resistance on things and reloading is one of them.

    I currently have the following

    Lee Single Stage
    Hornady powder trickler
    Gemini Scale
    Dies - obviously
    Caliper

I reload in steps so I have tons of prepped brass, tons of primed brass and so on the days that I am putting powder and projectile into cases and can do 50-60 in an hour.

I was thinking of moving to a lee turret. I honestly want to move to a Hornady LNL or a Dillon 650 but would rather put the funds to supplies...

I was just looking for feedback on an efficient route to increase my round count production without having to perform "acts" on street corners.

Dillon Square Deal B.. if loading for one caliber.. load on that for a while, nice little progressive.. about $350.. comes with one set of dies and powder measure.. Scale is useful, caliper is useful. 300 rounds/hour attainable.

      I am loading
      .45acp
      .300blk
      10mm
      .223
      .308
      9mm
      and now .38/.357

I saw the LNL for 379 so is a square better than that...

The Square Deal B only reloads pistol ammo. So it won't be a good fit for you. I own a SDB and I love it.

From what I've ve read the LNL is a great press, but I have drank of the Dillon blue kool aid and it is good. I would spend the extra on a 650. Even if it requires working a street corner.

Is the contents of the 650XL complete to start loading cause I see that the box shows the 1200.00 setup but I don't have a powder dispenser so I am looking for a complete auto setup. I know the LNL has all included...

I use a 650 for .40 S&W. My production rate is 300 rounds every 18 minutes without rushing. That includes dumping a few handfuls of bullets into the bullet feeder and dumping 100 primers once the primer buzzer goes off.

I case gauge later on while watching Netflix. I rarely do more than 300 rounds at a time as I can always find 18 minutes in my day to reload (usually after a dry fire session).

In regards to comment about the supplies vs a 650. The 650 is a one time purchase. You will spend much, much more in supplies than the cost of the machine if you shoot a fair amount. How much is your time worth?

Powder dispenser is included in the basic setup. Make sure if you are buying the 650XL that you get it with a case feeder.

So now were at 579 +223= 868 after tax.... Meh

                LNL is 410 after taxes....

I guess I am trying to see what would pay better dividends....

A couple hundred rounds an hour or thousands an evening...

I ma just getting started, but I started on a Lee Turret. I am loading for 9mm, 40 and 45 currently. I like I can change between them in about 5 mins, shorter if I don't have to change size of the priming. 4 pulls of the handle and I get a round. That being said I see a progressive in my future.

Maybe look at the 550? Cheaper but manual index. There was one for sale here, for 325.00. That was a steal however. I bought my 550 used for 250.00 set up with .40. After 2 years I am still gathering parts to reload 223. On the dillon. As of now 223 is on a lee single.
Imho the 550 is a better value than the lnl. Ymmv.

How many rounds are you shooting a month? A turret will increase your current rate of production over the single stage and a progressive will increase your current rate of production over both of those, but it all comes down to realistically how many rounds you shoot a month.

300 rounds every 18 minutes without rushing is nice, but if you're shooting 100 rounds a month, whats the point? Yes, its a one time investment for the press, but the more you spend on equipment, the longer it'll take for you to actually see any savings.

I know everyone will jump in and say how their time is worth more, blah blah blah. Go buy factory ammo then if your time is so valuable.

worst case, you can always sell it and get a majority of your money back if you don't like it.

If you get the turret press I would recommend the Lee auto drum as well. I removed the disconnect so I could remove another operation I had to perform. The small priming system takes some get use to. If you don't watch it you can get sideways and flipped primers. The large primers seem to work better.

There is a top end and a bottom end on reloading equipment. The middle is mostly useless.

Since the OP already has a decent single stage, he should go full bore to a progressive. Blue or red, I don't care.
