    .223 Lapua Brass

How many times is Lapua .223 brass good for reloading? Shooting in BM AR Match upper 20in. barrel. 52gr. smkhpbt with 24gr. of Varget, CCI #41 primers. I know to check the condition of the brass after firing. But I have read where new Lapua can be reloaded more times than Win. or RP or FC. My first time using Lapua so just throwin this out there to see what you guy's think. Normally I don't fire my brass more than 5X. Thanks for your opinions.

In a bolt gun with Properly fitted dies 50 reloads is not unheard of.
With a semi you are forced to overwork the brass for functionality of the gun and this is the main reason your brass will give up sooner.
    I don't shoot semi's but would expect 10+ reloadings.

      1. Depends if you anneal
      2. Why are you buying Lapua brass for the most common range tripping hazard around?
      3. I've been reloading the same brass for 20 years and just throw out the bad ones as they pop up never annealed, just trimmed, and it's all range pick up. But I might shoot 500 rounds of .223 a year if I'm lucky, I used to shoot it more but now the AR's collect dust.

BTW did you ever go through Ft Eustis?? for Schooling?

The box of Lapua was given to me. I now use Win. new brass because I had a primer pocket leak that ruined a bolt face. Never could ID the suspect brass but most of what I was reloading at the time was FC. I have been told by a gun smith that it only takes a one time primer pocket leak to pit a bolt face. So now I have been buying new Win. brass. Measuring the diameter of the primer pockets and finding the depth to be more of an issue than the width and being concentric.

        What is range tripping hazard???

in either my Spacegun or Service Rifle AR
I'm averaging 18 -19 reloads on plain old LC brass
befoe I start to see cracked necks

I use Lapua for my 600yd loads and am on my 13th reload for them

For a semi-auto, I would not be paying the premium for Lapua brass unless I was using a brass catcher or in a place where I could easily recover it.
That said, I have used Lapua brass in .223 and 7.62x39. It's very high-quality and I have yet for any to split on me after 5-6 reloadings.
