The Dillon RL550C is the most versatile reloading machine in the Dillon Precision Products line. It will accommodate the widest variety of cartridges from 32 ACP up to 338 Lapua, 416 Rigby, and 460 Weatherby.

The "C" designation indicates a significant design change. The upper link arm pivot pins are now threaded in place, and have a grease groove around the pin that connects with a lube hole on the end of the pin. You can use a needle fitting on a grease gun to lubricate the upper pivot pins now.

Finally they fix the upper pin gauling problem. I'm glad someone posted this. I fixed my 450 model because of the upper pins gauled up the upper link arm holes. There is no way to put grease in there without a tear down of the press. Dillon say to use oil for the upper pivot points. I want grease on the pivot points. I use oil on the main ram section. I modified the new parts for grease points.

Dillon did warranty the gauled parts. I did modify the upper pivot arms so I could grease the new parts.



I also modified the lower part the pivot arms work with for grease ports too.



These mods should have been done generation 1. Any mechanic or machinist would have fixed it by gen 2.



The white stuff on the blue Dillon paint is white Dykem. Makes it easy to transfer measurements to the parts for drilling the holes. The brown rod you see in the last picture is a Cratex rod. It is a slightly abrasive rubber rod I used to deburr and polish the inside bearing area if the pivot arms after drilling.

I guess that makes my Dillon a RL-450C.

From what I've heard, the wrist pins are the only real change. Haven't heard anyone else point out any specific changes
