    9mm ammo

Just a quick question, I have a ruger 9mm, and normally when I buy ammo, I just buy whatever is on the shelf at wally world or Big 5.. What type of ammo should I buy? I just go out to the range and shoot at targets and stuff.. I guess I'm just asking is there any specific grain I should buy? I also use the 9mm for home defense, but I could buy different ammo for that.

I just buy whatever i can find cheap for the range. It might be a little dirtier then something more expensive but i don't really care, I clean my guns when I get home anyway. For home defense I just buy the winchester self defense ammo at walmart. Just make sure you put at least a couple mags through the gun to make sure if feeds reliably.

Just get the Winchester 50 or 100 pack from Walmart. That is the cheapest from retailers around here as I know.

Usually the 115 gr FMJ's will be cheapest.. If you don't reload, the Blazer Aluminum case stuff is about the cheapest I've found or the berdan primed russian stuff.

The 100 packs from Walmart are the cheapest ANYWHERE (online or store), but their shelves have been bare of late and they only sell the 50 round packs at about $13..which is about what everyone else charges.

For your 9mm home defense ammo, go with the 147 grain hollowpoints (speer gold dots are just fine) at about $20 per 50...and shoot a good 100 or 200 rounds through your gun to make sure it cycles flawlessly before keeping it as your HD ammo. otherwise, any 115grain ball ammo is going to go through most 9mm handguns these days and is the way to go for the range.

"The 100 packs from Walmart are the cheapest ANYWHERE (online or store), "

I'm just posting this for reference. (I know different areas have different prices).

Yesterday at WM in San Dimas, 50 box of WWB was 10.97. Blazer was 8.97. 100 box of WWB was 19.98.

Seems like some people want the absolute cheapest price they can find. Just trying to help out

            WTB used AK MFER.
