    243 Load data

Can someone help me with 243 load data? I used to reload in late 80s and haven't since. Wanting to get back in now. I still have all my equipment. I noticed some of the powder max in my older books are different than what is online from manufacturers and they don't even list my old Hercules Reloder 12 powder. Could someone provide the Quickload recipes for the different powders what it calculates is max? Then I can work my way up.

    Weatherby 243 win
    24 in barrel
    1 in 10 twist
    100 gr Sierra Pro-hunter 1540
    OAL 2.65

I have IMR4350, IMR4831, and R12 but interested in other powders as well. If someone has a petload 243 100gr, I would like to hear it as well.

I'm trying to develop a load for Remington 100 grain PSPCLs using IMR 4064 but until all the snow we have up here melts, I'm not going to get much range time in.

Look at Hodgdon's website. Tons of data there for IMR powders.

I've had great results with 39gr of h4350 and 100gr sierra or hornady btsp's at 2.650". 3/4" groups at 100 from tikka t3 lite stainless and drop mule deer really nicely. I played with seating depths and didn't see much change in group size.

If I were you, I'd work up a load with your imr4350 as it should be pretty similar to h4350

Does that 100 grain bullet in that twist group well?

            I currently hand load 2 243's and soon be to a 3rd.
            I use Win 760 under a Speer 100gr BTSP.
We have taken a few deer including some nice bucks and the bullet seems to be better than I had expected.
I used to use Reloder 12 for the 30-30 til it went out of production which then led me to Reloder 15

FYI Alliant does not make RL 12. I also, I am wondering how stable the projectile is with your projectile an twist rate. With that combo it may be stable it might not. If it were me, I would buy a good chrono. This is essential.

Thanks Randall for the QL information. I'm going to work my way up with both IMR5350 and IMR4831.

I know Alliant doesn't make RL12 anymore but Hercules use to. I still have 3/4 can. I will save it for 30/30 and 300WM.

This is a new hunting rifle, not looking for match. Should be sub-moa once I find my load. 1-in-10 is the standard twist for 243. 100 grain is the standard deer/antelope bullet for 243. However, it is the top hunting weight. It is what made the 243 popular and not the 244 Remington.
