Long story short, I have a colt agent in .38 spcl and it fits my 6 year old quite well. An oldtimer had given me a powder puff recipe for my wife and it worked very well for her. No recoil and the bullet always came out the end. If memory serves me it was a 115 grain bullet over 2.1 grains BE. I'm looking for the recipe and finding it in my notes. As he has passed several years ago, I hope it's not just lost

The standard bullseye load for many, many years has been 2.6 or 2.7 grains of Bullseye powder under a 148 gr LHBWC, so you should be close with the stated load.

Primer only will often stick a lead bullet in the barrel.
Any amount of Bullseye over 1.5gn is enough to get the bullet out of the barrel.
Sorry, but all I have fired in the last 35 years have been 148gn L-HBWCs, so I have no record of what I did way back when.

My go to low recoil 38 Spl. load is a Lee 105 SWC over 2.5 Bullseye, it is accurate and fun to shoot in all my 38 cal revolvers.

I looked at those, they looked really cool.

We are going to a desert shoot soon and they say they are good for 25 feet.... that may actually work, don't know iof I will be able to recover them though LOL.

Just cooked up 50 X 125 grain hard cast over 2.2 BE. (2.2 is as small as my .357/ .38 powder die will go).

There will be a lot of kids at this shoot so I want stuff they will enjoy.

Yep. I've followed the Bullseye powder low charges for years. Never saw a reason to change. Shooting some today.

You could make a bullet trap out of a cardboard box and hanging carpet on the back. If you happen to live were it's legal to discharge a firearm, you could even use them in your garage or in your home.

My favorite light load is 2.5g Red Dot/Clays/Titewad/e3/Clay Dot under a cast 158g Lead RNFP. I used to shoot hot glue cast bullets with primer only using the same mold. Seat the bullet all the way to the bottom of the case and the bullet will come out fast enough to punch through a paper shopping bag with a towel inside to catch it.

I did this for fun with about a dozen bullets in the garage but I no longer do this because
a). the primer smoke is laced with lead and is not good for you.
b). paper shopping bags are now outlawed in this state and worth their weight in gold

I like Alliant e3 for my power puff loads. I love shooting 148gr DEWC with this fast powder. I think max load is 3.2 grains in my work up. Seat the wad-cutter flush and slight roll crimp over then end and your off to the races.

I've been shooting a Lee cast 105g swc under 3.2 grains of bullseye. It's good for 800 fps out of a 6" barrel. It's a nice load with hardly any recoil

Yes, this should work.
I recently loaded some 125gr plated rn bullets with 2.5 grains of BE for the wife to qualify for her ccw. They shot really soft and would key hole at 7 yds with both my S&W and Colt snubby's. I haven't worked on why they key holed--undersized bullets, too small bearing surface, plated, too slow, etc.-- yet.
The best solution for the wife was to go to a all steel Colt Detective special. You cannot believe how much difference a half pound of steel makes. A little larger, but it goes in her purse or in the car anyway
