Cal-Ammo

Anyone know where else to get it besides Turners, Its really scarace and if I find it I usually buy it. From what I know about Cal-Ammo it is reloaded from range brass it good stuff and for a good price too. I have asked Turners about availability of it and they usually just say, "We never know when we are going to get It, but when we do it doesn't stick around for long" Any info would be appreciated, Even if its comparable Reloaded Ammo at good prices.

I just went through a 250-rd box of 9mm FMJ Cal Ammo for the first time and it worked out just fine. No FTFs or FTEs out of a Glock 17 and priced the same as Wal Mart's WWB.

Why would you want to buy that ammo? It's under charged by 5% and not any less expensive. You might as well buy factory ammo and keep the fresh brass.

I'm gonna have to agree here. Although I've never had any trouble with cal-ammo in the past for plinking, the Turner's near me has cal-ammo for $52.99 for 250 of 9mm or $.21/round. WWB at wal-mart will cost me $59.91 for 300 or $.19/round. When Wal-mart has Blazer Brass its even better; $44.85 for 250 or $.18/round; and these are all new brass. All prices before taxes (all cities are different). The other caibers are about the same price differences. IMO turners is ok for gun purchases but their ammo prices are way above the curve, and right now every penny counts; at least it does for me.

You could contact MrKubota from the board, he has his commercial loading license. Ask him what he would charge to load you up some ammo in the caliber(s) that you need.

We've got plenty if ya need ammo, I keep a buffer of about 5K in 9, 40, and 45.

That underloaded ammo has never failed me, and if you shoot a ton through your gun it will last longer with light loads.

This is a little bias, but Cal - Ammo seems cleaner than the WWB that I've shot.

i haven't done much for ammo shopping, as far as where to buy. I haven't had any cal ammo in quite some time either. I just seem to remember it being the cheapest I had found at the time, and it shot well for going to the range and punching holes in paper. I made the post because it seams every time I have been to turners they do not have any. I agree totally with Turners pricing (High) i don't go there for much anymore, even firearms, maybe for my hunting and fishing licenses and the occasional visit to see if there anything new and interesting out. And when i'm in I check for cal-ammo.

I've shot 10's of 1000's of rounds of Cal Ammo. It has always worked great in my guns, the down loaded specs are ok with me why beat up your gun?

When I reload I don't load them to the max and who says what the factory load is? Do you think that they are all the same? If you do you are wrong.

Cal Ammo uses the same componets I use. If fact I've bought bullets from the Firing Line to reload. Winchester primers and powder same stuff I use. The way CA goes through the brass is better than a lot of home reloaders do.

If it is price competitve then I would use it without reservation.

Just keep in mind that Cal-Ammo at Firing Line ain't going to be as cheap as Turners. But it doesn't seem as expensive as reloaded ammo at some of other shooting ranges.

If I remember correctly, for 9mm, at Turners it's $52.99/250, that's 21.2 cents/round.
At Firing-Line, it's $13.99/50, that's 28.0 cents/round.

Everything else varies between $14.99 to $19.99 per 50 pack, from 38-special to 10mm or 40LC on the far end.
If you are a member, they have an 10% discount on the reloaded ammo.

Again, the only advantage I see is having them in-stock, not necessarily pricing.
Then again, if you can stop by Ammo Bros in Cerritos, you can probably have a lot more selection at better pricing.

I saw about 8 or more boxes (250rnd boxes?) at the Turners in West Covina yesterday. Ended up buying from Wally World, but either way, hope this helps anyone looking for some.
